About Us

Hello and welcome to Every Day On the Ranch!

Our family

This is our family. We want to share the unique and ordinary glimpses of our ranching lifestyle.

We live on a ranch in the high desert of Northern Nevada. Why is it called “high desert?” The elevation of the ranch is about 5,300 feet. (The cows graze at an even higher elevation in the summer.) Our average rainfall is only 11 inches per year compared to the national average of 38 inches per year. We earn the title of high desert because of the combination of high elevation and lack of rainfall. We love where we live!

Most people don’t live 40 minutes from town at the end of a 13 mile dirt road, have seven children, homeschool their children, and work with their children. We do and we will share what it is like every day on the ranch.
